José Pablo Rijos is an illustrator and graphic designer based in Puerto Rico, with a strong focus on narrative illustration and a deep love for storytelling, color, and expressive characters. His work lives at the intersection of children’s publishing, editorial illustration, and visual development, where emotion and clarity guide every image.

José Pablo has worked on children’s picture books, educational projects, and illustrated stories, as well as developing original characters and narrative worlds for personal and professional projects. His experience spans book illustration, character design, and visual storytelling, with a growing focus on children’s books and editorial work.

He enjoys creating characters with personality, building scenes with intention, and using color and composition to hint at story and mood. His goal is always to invite readers into a world that feels playful, warm, and emotionally engaging.

When he’s not illustrating, José Pablo enjoys learning new techniques and exploring ways to implement them into his artwork, constantly refining his process and visual language.

He holds a Master’s degree in Graphic Design and a background in Fashion Design, which strongly influences his approach to composition, structure, and visual storytelling.
